A practical guide „Blykst!“ on how to lead the discussions about creating workability and well-being at work is ready for use

At the end of 2016 the Occupational Health Centre of the Institute of Hygiene prepared a practical guide „Blykst!“  (eng. "Primer!") on how to lead the discussions about creating workability and well-being at work to be applied to the enterprises of Lithuania.

This discussion model was developed by the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health. The Lithuanian practical guide „Blykst!“ was prepared after considering the experience and needs of enterprises of Lithuania.

The main idea of the model is to encourage the interactive discussions between the employer and the employees which should lead to strengthening or creation of the welfare at work and increase the workability. The model is interactive and it encourages to look at the work environment creatively and to express one’s point of view on paper by painting.

The discussions could be lead for the various groups of participants - small business teams, employers, employees from different working environments. The discussions can take place for 10-20 participants in a group. The expected duration of the discussions is 2 hours. The discussions is supposed to be initiated and lead by the specialists of occupational safety and health services at enterprises, occupational health specialists, the specialists of human resources or Public Health Offices (Bureaus) or the other trainers.

The model was tested in a seminar for the specialists working in the Public Health Bureaus in 01/02/2017. The participants of the seminar were trained on how to lead such discussions in their own work environment also in the enterprises that they usually deal with.
