Coordination of surveillance of healthcare-associated infections (HCAI) and promotion of infection control.

Surveillance of HCAI includes several protocols:
- surveillance of HCAI in intensive care units (national reports),
- surveillance of surgical site infections (national reports),
- yearly point prevalence surveys (national reports).

Data are provided to ECDC HAI-Net.
